The
issues in Alabama concerning the quality of life of each resident
have become more apparent. We need more access to healthcare, more
jobs, and higher wages to handle the increasing cost of living.
Everyones
working harder and longer each week with little or no increase in
our household income. As God fearing-people, we must keep the faith
and look to the heavens for our help and direction. We cant
give in or give up. Our ancestors have been through much tougher
times and prevailed. I ask each reader to believe that with hard
work and fervent prayer, our conditions will improve for us individually
and our children and grandchildren in the future.
The
contents of this issue should be useful if you want information
on finance, employment, and healthy living. Our staff has labored
to gather information for our aging population. We are highlighting
one supporter who provides valuable credit education to our most
vulnerable population, college and high school students. To our
other supporters, we are thankful for helping to educate our readers
on issues that make a real difference in their lives every day.
We
are always elated to feature a state governmental department that
can be helpful to the people of Alabama. Applause should be given
to Phyllis Kennedy, Director of the Alabama Department of Industrial
Relations, for taking the time to provide our readers with helpful
how-to information regarding finding employment, training and the
locations around Alabama where assistance can be found.
We
hear at The Community Reinvestor magazine would like to wish the
citizens of Alabama a safe and productive year.
